Dangers of
belly fat
Men
usually notice the growth of their bellies. Some blame food, lack of
exercise, alcohol, you name it. This is of lesser importance if you
don't know what risks you are exposed to. Anyway your subconsciousness
makes the decision that this fat has to go. You feel unconfortable with
having a big abdomen and start looking for ways to get rid of it. This
is a very good choice you have unwillingly made. You will see right
away why by reading on.
Let's
start then. Fat goes and deposits in 2 places in the human body. One
is the thigh and the other is the belly. The former is more common in
women and the latter in men. In medical terms this is called fat distribution
and is measured by the waist-hip ratio with certain measures according
to each type of distribution: gynoid or android.
So
why is this important? Gynoid fat distribution poses little risk because
the thigh has only muscles, but when fat accumulates in your abdomen
it's time to loose weight. The threats are numerous because fat not
only deposits under your skin, but also surrounds the inner organs of
the abdomen: the liver, stomach, spleen, bowels, kidneys and so on.
This adipose “capsule” alters the function of the organ it surrounds.
I
will explain what happens when your bowels are surrounded by fat. Fat
will create pressure on the bowels thus slowing intestinal movement.
The effect is that you will be constipated and that absorption of nutrients
and toxins is prolonged. The former leads to excess of energy for the
body and increased transformation and storage of fat – vicious circle,
the latter leads to extra stress on the liver in order to cleanse your
body. Also cholesterol uptake increases.
Of
course this does not happen within days it takes a long long time to
develop. You have to ask yourself, is there any way I can exercise my
liver or bowels? There is no way that's for sure. Once fat deposits
(read an in
depth fat guide here)
there they will be very difficult to burn. Even after loosing weight , especially sudden slimming, fat
remains around these organs.
Weight
loss is good , it's healthy if you succeed in pacing it over months
with a rate of 1-2 lbs. per week. You will find that the Internet is
full with resources about weight loss programs and diets you only have
to look for the credible and honest websites.
